Construction is officially going vertical at Parkside Development, one of the most anticipated new commercial projects in South Tyler.
Paragon Construction & Associates is proud to serve as the general contractor for a new restaurant and retail building within the development. Located at 8851 South Broadway Avenue, Parkside occupies a highly visible location across from The Village at Cumberland Park and alongside Faulkner Park.
A New Restaurant and Retail Destination
Paragon is constructing an approximately 11,691-square-foot, single-story shell building designed to accommodate future restaurant and retail tenants. The privately funded project is being developed by The Genecov Group, with architectural design provided by SC Architecture.
Construction began in 2026, and the structural progress now visible from South Broadway marks an important milestone for the project. Once the shell building is complete, individual tenant spaces will be finished according to the needs of the businesses that ultimately occupy them.
While tenants have not yet been formally announced for this particular building, its combination of restaurant and retail space will contribute to Parkside’s broader vision for a vibrant new destination in South Tyler.
Part of a Larger Vision for South Tyler
The building under construction by Paragon is part of a much larger master-planned commercial development from The Genecov Group.
Plans for Parkside call for more than 600,000 square feet of commercial space featuring prominent retailers, restaurants, entertainment concepts and other businesses. The development is also envisioned to include walking trails, green space and connections to neighboring Faulkner Park.
Parkside fills an important area between Faulkner Park and the approximately 700,000-square-foot Village at Cumberland Park. Together, these properties are helping establish the South Broadway corridor between Cumberland Road and Loop 49 as one of Tyler’s leading retail, dining, entertainment and recreational destinations.
Pad sites along South Broadway will provide businesses with convenient access and strong visibility, while the proposed lifestyle portion of Parkside is intended to create a more inviting indoor-outdoor environment for shopping, dining and gathering.
Reaching an Important Construction Milestone
The transition from site preparation to vertical construction is one of the most visible and exciting stages of any commercial project. With the building’s structure taking shape, the scale and purpose of Paragon’s work at Parkside are becoming easier to see.
SC Architecture recently celebrated the project’s progress and announced that the new Parkside building is officially “going vertical.”
Reaching this stage reflects the coordination of the owner, architect, structural engineer, general contractor and trade partners working together to transform the plans into a lasting commercial space.
